  3. Recipe for Caramel Biscuits:

    Ingredients:

    6 tablespoons (or 115 grams) butter

    1/2 cup sugar

    1 dessertspoon golden syrup

    1/2 teaspoon vanilla

    pinch of salt

    1 cup self-raising flour

    Cream the butter and sugar then mix in all the other ingredients. Form into walnut sized balls, press down with a fork onto a greased baking tray. Bake until cooked in a moderate oven.

  5. CARAMEL CINNAMON ROLLS

    1 1/2 c. sugar

    4 c. water

    1 tsp. salt

    Boil above ingredients for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup Crisco and let cool. Measure 12 cups flour in a big bowl and make a well. Add lukewarm water mixture and 4 beaten eggs and 2 packages of dry yeast. Let raise for 1 1/2 hours, then punch down. Let raise again and punch down again. Raise again and make into rolls by using melted butter and cinnamon and sugar mix. Tie knots and lay on top of caramel in cake pan. Raise and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

    CARAMEL TOPPING:

    Boil for 1 minute:

    2 c. brown sugar

    4 tbsp. corn syrup

    4 tbsp. water

    1/2 c. butter

    Add:

    1 tsp. vanilla

    Cool to lukewarm and put in bottom of 3 cake pans.

    CARAMEL CINNAMON NUT ROLLS

    1 loaf frozen bread dough (regular or sweet)

    Cinnamon

    Sugar

    Raisins (opt.)

    Chopped nuts

    CARAMEL TOPPING:

    1/4 c. butter

    2 tsp. flour

    1/2 c. brown sugar

    1 tbsp. milk

    Thaw bread dough. Flatten bread on buttered cookie sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar and nuts. Roll up. Put topping ingredients together in saucepan. Stir over low heat until mixture comes to rolling boil. Pour into 8"x10" pan. (Chopped nuts may be added to topping.) Cut bread dough into rolls and place over topping. Let rise to desired size. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Immediately invert pan onto aluminum foil. Cool before wrapping. Can be frozen.
