How do i make chocolate?

Question

I would love to make chocolate for my daughter.

How do i begin? I want to basically make it from scratch. :D

also i always get a 1/2 a cup of chocolate into a small bowl and then put one tablespoon of creamy peanut butter and then put that (not mixed yet) and put it in the microwave for 1 minute then take it out and mix it up then get it into a small ice maker thing (the thing you put water in to make ice and then put it in the freezer) anyways put the chocolate into one of those things and then freeze it for about any hour then take it out so they can become room temp. and then serve and you have yummy peanut butter cups! your daughter will love it!

Honestly making chocolate is not for the inexperienced. You need special, expensive equipment to do it right and where are you going to get raw coco beans? If you want to personalize something for your daughter I'd buy some nice chocolate..like Guittard  or Scharffen Berger, melt it down, and you can buy some nice molds at Michael's and pour the melted chocolate in them to make your own.

*Actually..the answer below me has a great suggestion..those sound yum.

will this do?

CHOCOLATE CANDY

4 oz. unsweetened chocolate

1/2 c. maple syrup (Grade B or Amber preferred)

1/3 c. of raisins

1/4 c. currants (optional)

1/2 c. hazelnuts or almonds, chopped finely

1 tsp dark rum (Myers is good) or vanilla

In microwave or double boiler, melt chocolate. Add raisins and/or currants, rum or vanilla, and nuts.

Combine well. Drop onto wax paper in rounded spoonfuls, using two spoons or a small ice cream or cookie scoop.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes, then store in a ziploc bag in a cool place.

Tastes like those square chocolate "Chunky" candies in the foil wrappers.
