shes very sweet and gentle, but shes very hyper and steals feathery/glitter/pink things, small soldiers, bb gun pellets, chews through wires and turns over bins all the time and rips them up. she wont stop climbing things and knocking things over and rips up everything in her way, cactus plants and even the curtains. even with her water bowl and litter tray, she just turns them over. we have to shut all the bedroom doors in the house just to stop her going in and destroying everything. i dont know what to do to calm her down, its like she has ADHD or something!

she is eight months old and female. i have two other cats, her brother and an elderly 20 year old cat who do not behave like this, they are very well behaved. help.

  1. you can not do much at all apart from putting things away in cupboards.

she will start to grow out of this at about 18 months old

  2. GET A WATER GUN AND SQUIRT IT IN THE FACE,AFTER AWHILE IT WILL BEHAVE

  3. Do the cats get out .If not then that's your answer. the poor thing is going stare crazy,

  4. You kitten sounds like a lot to handle. If she likes to steal fluffy/pink things, maybe try getting her some toys with similar looks.

To stop her being so naughty, spray water on her back when you catch her doing something bad, and give her a 'time out'. So maybe put her in a cage for five minutes, so that she will learn that this is what happens when she does what she has been doing.

If it doesn't work, maybe she wants some more attention. Make sure you spend a lot of time with her. Tickle under her chin, as cats/kittens like that.

  5. FIRST have the cat spayed/ neutered.  THAT will change things fast.

    Use wire covers.

try some camomile tea in her water,

    good luck!>^..^<

  6. First off....are both other cats male? She could be destructive as a way of showing her dominance to them.

Otherwise try a water spray bottle that you can squirt at her when she being mischievous.

Keep in mind that she is still a kitten and so her attention span is limited. She acting quite normal for her age....though perhaps a little over the top.

  7. The absolutely best thing I've ever found for disciplining a cat is a water pistol. Keep it handy and when you see the cat do or touch something that it shouldn't, you give it a quick squirt. It doesn't hurt. The cat has no idea where it came from so naturally associates the bit of a scare and getting wet with the last thing it just did.

  8. Not too much you can do here. Even though the "cat" is 8 months old, she is still very much a kitten, and it takes a while for kittens to grow up, much like some humans!! Hope that helps!
