I was wondering if anyone could give multiple tips on how to get the most out of my Internet Connection. I did a Speed Test and my Current Speed is 750 kbps. However, my connection is advertised a 769 kbps. Ive tryed most of the Tricks in the book, but none seem to improve it. Is their any more Advanced ways to Get the full 769 kbps?

  1. your internet service maybe or your computers memory is almost or all the way full hmm... IM NOT FROM THE GEEK SQUAD DONT BLAME ME!!!

  2. I would understand when you would complain when you were promised a speed of 750kbps and would only get 300kbps. Then you had a reason, but a difference of 16kbps. is nothing.

The advertised speed is in perfect condition and that will never be reached by anybody. You might live a couple of miles too far from the station  There are many different reasons that you do not get the full speed as promised.

I have a speed up to 20MB. The provider does that on purpose, because the full 20MB is only possible under absolute perfect conditions.

I have a real speed of around 10MB with a download speed of around

    1.20MBps

When the provider says up to  20mb it must be over 6mb. When that is the case they are giving you what they promise. When it is less than that I have reasons to complain.

You did a speed test and you got 750kbps. So you are taling about your download speed and not your internet speed. That is quite a difference.

I have an internetspeed of 10mb and a download speed of 1.21mbps.

That is what I get when everyghing is perfect.

When I download a program I normally get a speed between

750kb and 1150kbps.  When however I download something from

    www.download.com I never get a higher speed than 450kbps.

Why, because download.com is very popular and many people are downloading from that site.

So you haver really nothing to complain about. You nearly got the maximum speed. So stop looking for ways to improve it. You won't succeed.

  3. No, due to geographic regions, user activity, etc., you will never get the full speed. That's why they'll always say "up to ...kbps."

  4. talk to your internet provider, because if they advertised that speed, then you should get that

  5. As stated above, you will not usually experience the advertised speed. If you need a higher speed your only option is to upgrade your service.

    Hope this helps.

  6. k they say that stuff all the time but it's always lower than what they say. you will just have to live with it.
