How do i make my car fail smog?

Im interested in selling my 92 ford mustang 2.3L. the car starts but will not really run. I read something about the state of california will give up to $1000.00 for cars that do not pass smog, if i "retire" the vehicle. so if i qualify for this than what could i do to make sure the car does NOT pass smog? it just seems a lot easier than having to go through with the selling process.

if this car starts and doesnt really run,it might not pass any way

Lol strange question. Anyways just cut the cats off. Break your Egr system, put all plug wires on backwards, pull all vacuum lines off and switch them around, or just leave them off.

P.S. where did you find that info, if I can make a grand a week taking one car to cali, might be worth doing.
