How do i make my cooling fan silent ?

its so loud its like a hoover i want to make it silent without buying a new one

  1. Buy a can of air-duster.

    Disconnect the computer, open up the case, take it outside and dust out EVERYTHING in there, especially the fins of the heatsink underneath the processor cooling fan.

    Now, that mound of dust you just got rid of was acting like a blanket trapping in heat. Now that it's gone, the fans won't have to work as hard to keep things cool. They are speed-controlled by the motherboard. As temps get hotter, the mobo speeds them up to try to cool things down.

    Also, keep your computer well ventilated. Don't stuff it somewhere air-tight so you don't have to listen to it. It needs to be able to breathe well to stay cool. This may not be your cup of tea, but personally I leave the sides off the cases of any of my computers so they have better airflow. It's ugly but effective.


  2. if you are talking about a computer cooling fan the answer is simple u need to download speedfan program but if you are talking about a house cooling fan you need to buy a new one because there is no way to make it more silent.
