How do i make my parakeet trust me and my fanily?

i got two parakeets and one is really nice happy and ceroius but the other one is shy scared and she doesnt true anyone but the other bird what do i do?????

spend alot of time with it and talk to him/her in a very calm voice and go slow when your going to pet or hold him/her. offer some small bits of fruits and vegetables to it...like spinach, brocklie, carrots, apples, and some millet spray, have your family do the same with her and remember to be slow with it...parakeets get easily scared when something comes at them fast...and always remember to give it lots of love ^_^

Before you even try take it out of the cage, you need to build trust with the bird. Take a designated time out each day and just sit by the cage and talk to the parakeet.  Tell him/her about your family, what you were doing, and stuff you do in daily life.  When the bird starts to become interested and leans toward you instead of hiding in the back of the cage, offer the bird a small treat, such as millet spray.  also, when you think your bird is ready, don't try to first put your hand out for the bird, but hold a wooden perch under the budgie's chest and talk in a calm voice for it to climb on .  Give it a treat and keep slowly working with you budgie until it will comfortably perch onto your hand without flying away.

Hi! I also have some couple of heads of Parakeets. My birds were not tame that much but if you always try to feed them during feeding hours, and do some little chit-chat on them they may be able to comfortable with you.

I already talked to some bird breeder that I know... and they say that having a tamed bird is a lot of time and effort. You may do this when your birds laid their eggs... try to wait until they hatched and after 2-3 weeks of age you may give some hand feeding. As the young bird got older they will get familiarized with you and your family as well.
