How do i make my remote work??

Hey all i dont know what info you need so here is all i can think of. I have a Hitachi Dvd player (second hand without a remote). The DVD player says DV-P323U on it. My remote (which i was told can be programed) is from TElus TV. I live in edmonton Alberta canada. Can someone PLEASE make this work i neeeeeed to watch a movie tonight.
