Ok, heres the story. I recently bought my computer off tigerdirect.com. I turned it on and everything was working properly, but i realized there was no microsoft word program. then i had a free thing come with my computer for windows vista. i installed that and found out microsoft word wasn't on that either. (now i know it just doesn't come with it) then i got rid of windows vista, un-installed it, and re-installed windows xp. after that my speakers dont work. they are plugged in, turned on, and when i go into my computer and click sound settings it says that i don't have audio device at all when it's plugged in. people have told my to see if my sound card is installed but when i go to see that the only things that show up is "audio codecs, lefacy audio drivers, legacy video capture devices, midia control devices, and video codecs. and they all say they are working properly. so does this mean i don't have a sound card? because i can't find it. can' anyone help??

  1. You do have the sound card. It can't disappear.  Just go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest audio drivers for your computer.  To learn windows hacks and secrets visit my website. The link is in my profile

  2. you need to install all the drivers for your model, you can get them at the manufacturers web site by looking for support and driver downloads, install all the drivers and restart the pc and everything should work
