Question:

How do i make my spikes better?

okay so I'm the best spiker on my team, but i am always wanting to be better at it. I feel that if i miss any spike that i suck at it! Then i don't believe in myself and miss more spikes. Anyways, i'm wantin to know how i can improve! Any ideas?

  1. The first thing you need to do is change your attitude. Now, I mean no disrepect when i say this but you can't be perfect all the time. Besides, in order to be perfect, or close to it you need to have certain skills and abilities. You don't say how old you are, but i'm guessing anywhere from grade 8-10. It's perfectly natural for you to be frustrated if you can't do it right all the time, but understand that this type is thinking is useless and counterproductive. Judging by your avatar, you're a female. A female volleyball player doesn't reach her prime until around 24-26. Knowing that, do you still think it's fair to assume perfection for yourself? The only thing you should demand of yourself is focus. With this you can use the mistakes you make as an opportunity to figure out why you're making the mistake.

    Other than that, just listen to your coaches and actually try the things they ask you to do and go to as many camps as you can. If you do this, by the time you're in your prime you'll have the skills and abilities necessary to be perfect as often as possible.
