How do i make my wireless network DHCP enabled?

my computer says that my wireless network is not DHCP enabled. how do i change so that it is DHCP enabled

  1. I really doubt that's the case.  Most are enabled by default.

    What you would have to do though is connect to your router with a cable.  Set your ip address manually in your computer to be on the same network.  If you don't understand what that means, I'll make it simple.

    Find out what the default ip address of the router is.  It's usually  192.168.0.1.

    Set your computer to 192.168.0.2, or 192.168.0.3, etc.

    subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

    Once you set that, you'll be able to connect to your router through the web browser by typing the ip address. 192.168.0.1  if that doesnt work, try ping 192.168.0.1 from the command line.  If that doesn't work, you should make sure your cable is good, and that your router is actually plugged in.

    Once you're in, you should be able to adjust all the settings and turn on dhcp.  Check the manual for the exact instructions.
