I really love the look of Office 2007 and i want to emulate that as best as possible on the openoffice.org software. Any help on making this happen would be greatly appreciated.

  1. You can't. Not possible.

    You're also in the minority.

The look of Office 07 is the most complained about aspect. OpenOffice 3 "may" have a similar look but I wouldn't count on it.

The look is the only thing in 07 that makes it 07. While some underlying format changes occured, the look is all that most will notice.

  2. You can change the icons in OpenOffice.org to some supplied variants through Tools → Options... → OpenOffice.org → View and selecting values under “User interface” and change a few other things under “Options”.

For example, Tools → Options... → OpenOffice.org Writer → Formatting Aids you can be used to turn off some of the grey lines which Open Office, by default, shows on the screen,a dn which Microsoft Office by default hides on the screen.

    But there’s not much more.
