  1. Chop it up.. And put it in a blender for a few seconds..

    Dont cook the tomato..

    cut up some garlic, onion, tomato, jalapeno..

  2. Maybe add some fresh ingredients to liven it up

  3. it is basically tomatoes, onions garlic lime juice salt to taste in a food processor. No cooking the tomatoes. If you have ever had authentic salsa you will notice that the tomatoes are firm almost like pico de gallo

  4. It depends if you want it to be like pico de gallo or more blended for a true salsa. If you want the pico - then follow the directions above with blending the ingredients together. If you want a more "liquid" salsa, YES cook the tomatoes first and then blend them in a blender with your ingredients. When we make homemade salsa here we add:

    - cooked tomatoes

    - cilantro (to your own taste)

    - jalapenos (to your own taste because it can get VERY hot)

    - lime juice

    - onion

    - spices - pepper, salt, garlic, etc.

  5. easy, but good!

    ingredients:

        * 3 tablespoons finely chopped onion

        * 2 small cloves garlic, minced

        * 3 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and seeds removed, chopped

        * 2 hot chile peppers, Serrano or Jalapeno, finely chopped

        * 2 to 3 tablespoons minced cilantro

        * 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons lime juice

        * salt and pepper

    Preparation:

    Put chopped onion and garlic in a strainer; pour 2 cups boiling water over them then let drain throughly. Discard water. Cool.

    Combine onions and garlic with chopped tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours to blend flavors.

    Makes about 2 cups of salsa.
