  1. Power is fine but if you cant control your power with topspin, then you definitely need to work on it. Topspin is key for keeping balls in, the flatter you hit, the less top spin you hit, the more likely they will go out especially if only interested in power. Change up your game, be versatile with your play, dont be afraid of some finesse. The top players in the world didnt get there by just being powerful. Good luck.

  2. hey

oh i faced that problem too;)

    what you could do is:

first you could brush up on the ball a bit more so it will put spin on it.

secondly you are probably not following through as full as you can or maybe you are stopping after hitting the ball then following through you should follow through smoothly.

doesn't look like it would help but it does make a difference.

  3. Keep the lid on the can.  Those tennis balls won't be going anywhere then.  Unless they are able to figure a way to get the lid off, then you are in trouble.

Wow!!  I decided to give a comical answer and got hammered with negative votes.  Funny thing is I was the tennis team captain on my college team and can probably beat anyone in here...lololol.

  4. Looks like your top spin was not sufficient enough to bring down the amount of powers you applied on the ball.

A several things you can do to fix:

    1) Lessen your power ( I don't think this is what you want)

    2) Add more spin to the ball to bring it down faster before it goes out ( brush the ball from low to high and higher)

    3) Check out your grip, continental and eastern forehand are not good for topspin. I would recommend using semi-western forehand grip.

    4) If semi-wester grip does not work then you might want to try extreme grip (Wester grip), this is a little hard grip to learn and required good wrist.

  5. hey,

what grip do you use? [eastern, semi western etc]

if you dunno then go to http://tennis.about.com/od/forehandbackh...

    and find out.

if your using eastern then switch to semi-western. this adds more topspin.

  6. Topspin will help keep balls from sailing long, but if you're leaning backward, you'll probably still hit it long. Try keeping your weight moving forward even if its just a little bit, and use topspin.  Be sure and practice enough to get your strokes ingrained in your mind, so you don't have to think about them in a match.
