i like knee-high socks :)

don't fret, back in my highschool days, it was much MUCH worst.

1. light blue blouse with the initials of the school "ECC" printed all over

2. blue necktie with the school's logo in it

3. dark blue skirt (just 4 inches more and it will reach the ground, seriously!)

If not, draw attention away from the shoes....

Put some type of hair band or clip in your hair that draws the attention upwards.

I had an ugly uniform too when I was at school.  It's also likely that your school will have a uniform code which means you can't wear a lot of accessories.  At my school, we were allowed one pair of stud earrings, one flat signet style ring, one watch and the school badge - nothing else.  No makeup and no dyed hair.  If our hair was below our collar it had to be  tied back.  Our skirts had to be as long as our knees.  In winter a tie and a tunic with a belt.  The only way to make the uniform look good is to wear it in the right size, stand up straight and smile.

well you can try getting a NICE light blue shade for the polo, some are hideous, get it either a little darker or a little lighter. Make sure the skirt is well, well fitted. Make sure the polo is also well fitted, unless they make you tuck them in, I always had one bigger sized shirt and one smaller for school (I hated uniforms -_-). Are the shoes specific? If not find some really cute brown loafers or any other stylish brown shoe instead. Maybe a nice sneaker in brown. The knee high socks... well make sure they're a nice shade of blue as well and maybe if they could be a darker color or white they would look better... Always accessorize as much as you can, cute headbands are a must. Nice makeup, I'm sure if you school wears uniform they also have some other policy on makeup and stuff, so be careful but push the limits just a bit and see how far you can get. A good bag is also an essential! One that's functional and stylish. Hope this helped.

Also most schools that require you to wear polos, also allow you to wear a button down seersucker. They look MUCH better than school polos. and you can find one that actually gives you a nice shape at the waist, or you can get it tailored to give you more shape, maybe a relative can do this for you.
