How do i map a driving radius from my postal code?

I am looking to see how far I can drive from my address in around 20 mins. I havent found anything on the net so far!!

  1. That would be a very difficult task for any software - because distance is a function of time and speed.  So if you lived in LA - you can only get about 5 miles in 20 minutes.

    If you live in the country near a highway - you can get about 20 miles in 20 minutes.


  2. the only think i know of, is while using mapquest if you give it a search, like from your house to somewhere else, it will tell you how long it will take, becuase it goes off of speed limits on the streets around you.  It says you have to take into account trafic and such.  

    That's the only one i know of... if you live in a city, you could bank on about 7-10 miles in 20 minutes... try getting a map, and drawing a circle from your house, that has a 7 mile radius.

  3. Try using Google Earth, And click on the little ruler on top.   It's pretty self explanitory on how to use it, Pull out 20 miles or so and make your radius.

  4. At 60mph, you can drive 20 miles in 20 minutes. Use that as a guide.
