  1. One source of error to watch out for is evaporation. By the time you did the drop by drop method, some of the water will have evaporated, causing an error.


  2. Use a pipette to measure it drop by drop.

  3. There are at least three other ways:

    1) A pipette, if you can find one of capacity 3 ml.

    2) A smallish burette could be used to deliver a varibale amount e.g. 3 ml to good accuracy.

    3) The most difficult way would be to weigh out about 3 grams of water. You could use an accurate scales, and an eye dropper. You also would need a thermometer. You would look up the density of water at various temperature e.g. 20 degrees centigrade....
