  1. Here is a great site that covers all the questions you may have about relocating to the USVI. Also on this site is a message board to ask additional questions.

    Good Luck)

  2. seach google. like real estate websites

you'll probably have to rent a house because its so expensive

  3. Definitely should visit first.

St. John is the most expensive. You have to be LOADED to live there.

    St. Thomas is touristy

St. Croix is the best for living, if your actually trying to move to one.

They have a problem with stray dogs down there for a reason. People move there, and after a year or so realize they can't handle living on an island and then move back. But not before they've already bought a dog for protection or whatever. Moving there and back is expensive eitherway. A lot of people just leave the dog there. There are a lot of stray dogs too.

So just be sure you really want to and think you can handle living there.

I'm going to move there too someday. I know I would love it if I had means (money) to support myself down there. But I only know that because I've been there.

Just make sure you make a nice long visit for educational purposes first.

When you come back and know you want to really do it, start dialogues with real estate agents.

There are listings online just like anywhere else.

From what I've read, it costs a good 10k to really get settled.

  4. The pluses:  It is a beautiful island, has a sturdy economy, and the weather is perfect.

The minuses:  It is expensive to live there.  All products need to be imported.

Since it is a possession of the US, travel is fairly easy.  But, you need to have a job (recommended), and a place to live.  Since you are contemplating moving there, visit first.  Check out living arrangements and schools.  See what the cost of living is.

Keep in mind that if you don't like it, it will be very expensive to leave.  If all the numbers add up for you...go for it!!!  I think you will really like it there.

  5. Type in (St. Thomas Virgin Islands Daily News) then look for real estate.  Then book a flight to check if you would like living there.

  6. First, you need a Boat.
