  1. you will need his DD214's. go to the veterans association, they will help you if it can be done.

  2. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/searc...

    http://www.collectionscanada.ca/index-e....

    http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/general/sub.cfm...

  3. veterant association will take your father's name and check on list and will contact you

  4. First contact a Veterans Service Officer, you can find one either at your local court house or a local Veterans Organization such as the VFW, DAV, American Legion, AMVETS or you can find a local Veterans Service Officer on the VA's Web site, their link is:  http://www.va.gov/

You will need a copy of his DD-214, Discharge Papers and file a

    SF-180 form.

The SF-180 form is used to get a copy of the DD-214 and also, Replacement Medals, Medical Records, Service Records, VA Home Loan Certificate. To aid in getting the information, you will need a copy of his Service Number if you don't have it, his Social Security Number will do.

    Hope this helps, Good Luck.
