  1. What have you got to hide?

  2. All you need, is proof of identity, such as a passport, and a registered address, with a letter with the address on it, from an official body.

  3. Britannia are very straight forward and easy to go with. Good interest payments too!

  4. You must be hiding something....

  5. The UK has very strict rules regarding what information banks will ask when you apply for a bank account, because of money laundering.

You will have to provide your passport as proof of ID, and you will also need to provide two things as proof of address - usually council tax or utilities bills, and usually a mobile phone bill is not acceptable.  If you're new in the UK you may not have this, in which case you'll probably find it impossible to be able to open an account.  Otherwise, you can try getting a letter from your employer to verify your identity but then it's likely that you'll only be able to use the same bank as them.

Aside from that, you will be asked for standard basic personal data such as date of birth.

  6. What questions don`t you like? Name, address, phone number, how much money you have. Simple that's all you need which one don`t you want to answer.

  7. HSBC,  but any bank will need to see proof of ID before opening an account.

    Its to stop money laudering.

  8. Of course they are going to ask you questions and want proof of ID.

  9. Any bank needs your full details and you will also have to provide proof of id!!
