  1. Depending on how large the stack of important papers are, I'd recommend using hanging file folders in a portable file box (http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Pro... or a file drawer.

If you're a person like me and can identify with "out of sight, out of mind", then maybe you need to use some wall space and have things up on a board (whether it be a bulletin/cork board or a magnet board--IKEA has many).  Obviously, for this case, you'd only have a few papers you need to access/display.

Organizing is often difficult and since you didn't write any specifics about what you're organizing, I'm going to write whatever comes to mind.  You might want to consider how often they're used (maybe sort by date/time) and who needs access to these papers (in this case, the system would need to be simple enough to work for everyone). Not sure if this applies to your case or not but we have an "In" box for each member in our house and a "Bills" box.  So far it works very well...all the checks, stamps, calculators, etc. are in the "Bills" box.  And anything you designate should go in a certain place should have a label!  Your chances of putting it back there are much better.  Good luck!

  2. Can you use a section of wall space and make cubby holes like the teachers "in boxes" in the office?

  3. binders and folders
