I know there are a lot of questions like this, but i think this one is different. My friends are making me go to a theme park and i really don't want to. They all love roller coasters, but i don't. For me, it's not the heights, or throwing up. It's that feeling in your entire body when u go down the slope of the roller coaster. And don't tell me to just go and i'll love it. I've went on roller coasters before and i absolutely HATE it.

  1. start small and then work your way up. That's what I did.

  2. go on splash mountain disneyland!  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚˜Âº

  3. if u put ur hands wayyy up in the air and concentrate on screaming as loud as you possibly can all the way down i promise you won't feel a thing. its actually like...wicked fun.

  4. that happened to me aswell, but i convinced myself to go now i am older, i just got there early and went straight to the fastest ride in the park (stealth) i knew even if i didn't like it that it would be ok because its only 5 seconds long! but i absolutely loved it afterwards! anyway its worth going even if you dont like it at the moment because if you find you do like it, then you will have missed out on something great and its allways worth getting out of your comfort zone occasionally

  5. Just ride and scream your lungs out. It's the only way. Trust me.

  6. You don't like that feeling?  That's the whole point of the ride! :)  Try riding with some of your best friends.  When there's the picture at the end, you can all laugh at it together.  Mix some good memories with the ride and hopefully you won't be as afraid.

  7. Try smaller rides first, and work your way up. if you still don't want to go on it later, tell your friends you're sitting this one out, and you can either wait patiently or go on another ride. They might tease you a bit or junk like that, but it'll be worse if you're tripped out from a bad rollercoaster experience for the rest of the day.

Edit: I forgot to mention that a good way to lessen the effect you get when you're falling that you described is to first of all be as tightly buckled as you can without being uncomfortable, then try to minimize your body movement by bracing yourself against something such as the side of the car or the back of your seat. You'll still get some of the falling sensation, but it will be minimized if you keep your body still. good luck, and I hope you have fun

  8. look, they are made for people to go on and have an amazing time. they are really fun and i happen to absolutely LOVE them, but thats me and this is you. i recently went on kingda ka, and i thought it was amazing but my friend, who shares the same love of coasters, freaked out. she solved the problem by closing her eyes and counting. most coasters are at most 3 minutes long so  you can just go and if youre having fun, great, youre having fun, but if you are absolutely hating it, close your eyes, count to 100 and just thing of something really amazing. the feeling of going down a slope will still be felt but not the extent that you hate so much, im sure. just go on 1 and do that, and if you cant go on anymore then tell your friends you had a huge meal before that and it was a mistake and dont go on any more. simple as that. good luck and i hope you have fun

  9. Well you can close your eyes and it some times works but if you want them open the scream your face offtrust me i hated roller coasters and my frend just told me to scream and it worked it even made it fun i went on it 3 more times :)!

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

  10. If it's the weightless kind of feeling when the roller coaster is going down hill that you don't enjoy, I'd say just don't go on them.

Plenty of people just don't like that feeling and it's not okay that you feel you have to go on rides you don't like. Just go on the stuff you do like and ignore the comments from your friends.

Maybe you can find someone else to go along who likes the same rides you do. You can still have fun at alot of these parks even if you don't do the big roller coasters. Check out the park on line and see what other things they have and you may find some rides you'll enjoy.

One quick note though, if the last time you went on a coaster was awhile ago you may not have the same problems now that you had the last time you went on the ride. Your size and age can change how you feel during the ride.

  11. If you HATE  it, and are just going to make your friends feel better, make them pay your way in, and spend your time on other types of rides. Also, a lot of people go for the arcade. It's not my thing; I LOVE roller coasters and that feeling you are talking about. But that feeling never goes away no matter how long you've been riding. So I wouldn't call it a fear; more so a distaste. Just don't get on one. There have to be other things there you can at least tolerate. Good luck.

  12. There are people out there that crave that feeling, and there are those that find it to be uncomfortable and hate it. That is ok, everyone has their likes and dislikes. Explain this to your friends and tell them that you do not enjoy rollercoasters like they do. If they insist that you go to the park with them, find other things to do in the park such as shows, arcades, water rides, shopping, ect. I am a coaster enthusiast, but if a friend doesn't like to ride, or is afraid, I don't push them.

If you wish to humor them and ride, try to relax as much as possible. Being tense can make you uncomfortable. Ride smaller rides first and at your own pace. If you don't want to ride the biggest ride in the park, that is ok; offer to watch their things while your friends go ride. Balance out the day with things that appeal to you while your friends get plenty of rides on their favorite coasters, and all of you can have a fun day.

  13. You should go on it with them. when you get butterflies in you tummy just SCREAM and close your eyes That gets rid of the feeling i hated roller coasters but i done that and i loved them
