  1. Interviewers expect people to be nervous.  Avoid needless sounds like um....and k....like....speak normally, take a controlled breath before you answer and do the following if you find yourself unable to focus.

Put your hands in your lap and squeeze the tip of a finger really hard.  This keeps you distracted from your nervousness, and will prevent needless 'playing' with things like pencil, unconcious movements like scratching, picking, or knocking things over.

Make eye contact with the interviewer without staring. It's ok to look at an object on the desk while you listen, but do make sure the interviewer knows your mind is with you in the room and not on a hot date last night.

Think of some excellent customer service examples to answer "what does excellent customer service mean to you" question.  This is everything to a company, and if you have this skill, you're in.

Lastly, bring a bottle water with you that has a cap on it.  When you need a moment to think of your answer, unscrew the cap and take a sip of water.  This gives you a moment to think.  Keep the cap loose enough so you won't waste too much time, and answer while putting the cap back on.

    Good luck.

  2. Practice what you plan on saying to the interviewer.  Being comfortable/confident in what your saying helps.

For the job your getting thats all you really need to know.

Also try and not make yourself sound like you're above/under the job.

  3. Everyone is nervous during an interview, don't feel bad!  The best thing to do is remember, they are only asking questions about YOU!.  There is nothing about yourself that you can't answer!  Take your time and realize that you are also interviewing them.  Is this a place you would like to work?  Do they have benefits?  Is there room to advance?  Confidence will take you a long way.  Find some interview questions online and practice.

I also take a paper clip that I fidget with during an interview.  It keeps my hands busy so I don't "talk with my hands" so much.  It also calms me down.  Some of my other friends have used stones or other things the same way.

Make sure you take your time and listen to each question all the way through before you answer.  You'll be fine!!!

  4. JUST PICTURE EVERYONE NAKED LOL

  5. Be up front at the interview.  State your case and maintain eye contact, remember the person doing the interview is probably looking for some one they feel will be reliable, truthful, show up for work on time every day. Tell the interviewer you want the job and look forward to moving up in the company as you learn how to be more productive.

  6. experienced interviewers will understand your nervousness and will try to put you at ease, and will not hold it against you (unless you're speechless or something). They may start with small talk to make you comfortable.

To overcome it, I suggest positive "self-speak"-first of all dress in clothes you like and know you look good in. You will feel good about yourself. Second, believe you are a good person for the job and they want to hire you. Take a few deep breaths and remember they are only human, too. Shake hands, answer the questions, say thanks, not to worry!

    Good luck!
