How do i patch up a water bed that is slit on the seem?

I am not sure that you can patch that area... I think I remember this happening to us a while back and we had to buy a new "mattress"....

This would depend on the size of the slit and its location on the seam. Typical water-bed patch kits are for small pin size type of holes. I have use typical tire patches,  (the monkey grip brand comes to mind, yellow can with monkey in a red / white stripe shirt) that are available at any hardware store including Waly-World (Wal-Mart). The kit comes with various sizes and a 2"x4" rectangle that can cut to size as needed. Make sure the area is dry and just follow the directions that come with the kit.
