How do i pay for my classes with financial aid?

I recently applied for financial aid, and they told me that i am qualified for 2 grants. I got a e-mail from financial aid, it told me how much im going to be getting. but my question is how do i pay for my classes.. does it go to my school first and they pick pay and send me the rest of the money ,or does it come to me by check and i pay for it?

  1. They will usually mail you a check which you deposit into a bank account and then write the school a check.  However, they could pay the school directly, it depends on the grant.

    Congrats on getting one!  What school and what field are you going into?


  2. You don't get to see the money...they just automatically include it in the tuition bill. Then if you have to pay anything out of your own pocket they'll send you the reduced bill. You can pay the rest of this with loans or money from a part-time job.

  3. it wil go to the school you put on the  applicaton...then you will need to find out when they are giving out the reimbursement checks at school and go pick up the remainder there.

  4. They pay for your classes automatically out of the money. You have to show up to your classes the first day and get all your professors to sign that you show up. Then you stand in a line for about 2-3 hours and you get the rest of your check. That is used for your books and other costs.
