My school is offering a trip to italy over the summer. I really want to go but i don't know if my parents will let me. it does cost quite a bit of money like 5,000 dollars. this price though includes accomodations, airfare, and food, and the tours. does anyone have any advice as to how i can persuade my parents to let me go and is $5,000 a good price for a ten day trip to italy? Thanks.

  1. Being from the UK - a ten day trip to Italy for me would be wouldnt even touch a thousand dollars as its only 2 hours away - so i cant comment on the price

    As for persuading them

Tell them that as its with school you wont be buy yourself - you are being monitured and looked after by experienced adults all the time

Try and learn a bit of italian so they know that in an emergency you can look after yourself

just emphasise your maturity and the fact you will be supervised at all times.

  2. Holy FRIGHT... $5000 for a 10 day trip to Italy.... I can do a trip like that on $1500 or less.  Wait until you get older and then you can work and earn your own money so you can throw $5000 away on a $1500 trip.

  3. First gather as much information as you can to show your parents what a great deal it is financually as well as an educational benefit. Come up with a way to help pay for a portion of the trip, it will show your parents you are truly comitted to going. Work some extra chores, offer to give up Christmas gifts this year, whatever you can. Also, be sure to give them all the information on chaperones so they know you will be safe. I am not sure how old you are, but hopefully they will let you go! If not, then know you made your best attempt and try to go next year!

  4. I think the price is fair, of course depending on where you would be eating and staying.

You said IF your parents will let you, which means you haven't asked them. Ask them! If they say no, come back and tell us why they said they said no. Until then, good luck.
