  1. Well, the easiest way to get one would be to

    1) ask for money (for your birthday or similar or just your regular pocket money - make it clear that the money is yours and you can do with it whatever you want.)

    2) go to the next MediaMarkt or Saturn store and buy one.

If your mom starts argueing afterwards, point her to BGB paragraph 110. BGB is the German civil code and paragraph 110 is colloqial known as "pocket money clause". (I.e. you get to keep the straightener no matter what.)

Hope that was helpful to you.

  2. How old are you? I know you don't want to hear this but moms do know better on a lot of things.

If it is used right and only once in a while it won't ruin your hair. Get all the information on the Internet and show your mother if it is used correctly it will not damage your hair.  You can not use it on a daily basic. If you want your hair straight try blow drying it. I have natural curly hair too. I only flat iron it on special occasions. Be sure to put some defining polish in your hair after you are done. I use Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops in my hair when I straighten it.

  3. If you know it's bad for you why would want it? Just listen to your mum and let it go. Sometimes it's better you listen to your parents.

  4. e-bay....and they dont ruin your hair if you have ''stuff'' to put into your hair with it and used properly....you can get the same effect with a clothing iron and an iron-board....get a good one not a cheap one...these are at about any beauty salon..frisure...sorry

  5. The best way is to save a few euros then go buy one, they aren't really that expensive. Then, to convince your mum, use it wisely - and by that I mean only occasionally, and while making sure you give your hair all the TLC it needs not to end up a ruined mess - because she is right, you know, if you use an iron like that all the time, it will ruin your hair.

But if you use it every now and then, and with the right hair protection stuff, you'll be fine and you can prove you are turning into a responsible young adult - that should make further arguments along these lines less likely.
