  1. You will need to purchase a sound system. I do not know your budget, but if you want sound you can spend anywhere from $100 - $3000. If you're not really a audiophile and you don't have a home theater, and all you want is sound from your Nintendo Wii, then you can get a 5.1 channel Home Theater in a Box (HTIB) for $110. (See source). HTIB's come with everything you need and all the instructions to set it up.

However, if your setup is a home theater, and you want the best sound, you have a few options. To start off with, you can purchase a high quality HTIB. If you have a large budget, then your best bet is Bose. Bose produces very high quality HTIB's, but they do come at a premium price. These can run you anywhere from $1000 - $3000. (See source).

Another option for you if you're looking for the best sound is to purchase individual components to customize and create your own surround sound home theater setup. In order to do this, you'll first need an AV reciever. The best AV recievers are from Onkyo, and they'll run you about $199 to $499. They're available at any electronics store or website. These recievers are designed to output lots of high quality power to your speakers.

That leads us to the speakers. There are many good speaker brands, including Sony, Phoenix, and more. If you want a standard 5.1 channel setup then you'll need a front center channel speaker which will deliver your dialogue, two front speakers which will deliver your music and main effects, and two rear speaker which will deliver all sounds that are supposed to be behind you (crowd cheering, a car zooming behind you, etc.). (See source for a 5.1 Channel Speaker Placement Diagram). You will also need a powered subwoofer to get your low bass sounds. Subwoofers can be the same price as speakers, sometimes more.

You can also opt to go for a 7.1 channel speaker setup which will throw two extra rear speakers into the mix. Again, there are many types of 7.1 receivers. You'll again need a center channel speaker, two front speakers, two rear side speakers, and two rear back speakers. This setup will cost you plenty more, however it delivers the best sound and the best rear effects. (See source for a 7.1 Channel Speaker Placement Diagram).

After you purchase your sound system, you will need to follow these steps to get sound from your Nintendo Wii:

    1) Set up your sound system as the instuctions tell you (setting up speakers, subwoofer, receiver, wiring everyting properly)

    2) Connect your Wii power cord if you have not already done so. Then connect the AV Cable that came with the Wii to your game system, and connect the YELLOW end of the cable to your projector. Once that is done, connect the RED and WHITE cables to the RED and WHITE stereo inputs on your AV reciever.

    3) Turn on everything, select the STEREO AUDIO source on your reciever, make sure your Wii is set to output stereo sound, and you are ready to go.

So basically, to summarize this entire answer in one sentence, you need a sound system in order to play sounds with your Wii and projector.

    Good luck.

  2. One guy on here bought a Creative A500 for his game system.
