How do i plug my phone to the computer?

my phone is a motorola v3i and i have a usb cable. but every time i plug it in it dosnt do anything what do i do after i plug it in? like where do i go and stuff?

Thats a pretty new phone, but I would think it works like all the other Motorola phones I've ever had, first of all you need a special USB driver by Motorola's website

Then scroll ALL the way to the bottom. Its the 4 one from the bottom. Click the link that says "Detail" under "Iden USB Application/USB Modem Driver".

None of my Motorola phones have ever worked on USB until I install that.
