  1. id say listen to music that pumps you up and visualise what you are gonna do on the field. Works for me!

  2. MAKE SURE UR FIT PHYSICALY N MENTALY........NEVER UNDAESTMAT UR OPPONENT N CONCENTRT ON DEMOLISHING UR OPONENT i.e PSYCHE URSELF UP MENTALY

  3. TAPE YOUR EARS!

  4. Train with your team and ask your coach or other players what to eat and try to listen to them. save the beer for after the game.

  5. I played rugby for 6 years, that being said--eat light, maybe a bananna or two and have some Gateraid and maybe a Powerbar.  That should hold you over until the "pitch" when you can add in the calories from the beer!

  6. I used to play flanker too. Obviously you need to hydrate and stretch just prior to the game but there are a couple of other things you should do too. You'll need energy for the game so you can eat or drink something high in sugar (instant energy) just before the game. A better thing to do is to carbo load which means eat a meal very high in carbohydrates (lasting and slow burning energy) the night before the game. A large plate of pasta used to do the trick for me, plus its yummy.

Also get a good nights sleep before the game. At least 8 hours is desirable.

Warming up and stretching before the game is essential in avoiding injury.

Play hard and have fun and smash their 5/8th a few times (a flankers favourite past time)

  7. think about what your job is in the game.

erase your fears, clear your mind,

    Prepare for battle!

  8. I used to play flanker aswell (blindside) and I would go to the game about 15minutes earlier and go get some room to myself and listen to some pump up music. Once everyone had arrived and started warming up I would make sure every hit in the warmup still had the intensity I would normally have. Then right before kickoff me and one of my mates would pump each other up by hitting each other etc. It would work really well if we were kicking off because then I'm all amped up and ready to smash someone when they catch the ball. GO BULLS!!!! NEXT YEAR SUPER 14 CHAMPS!!!

  9. don,t forget your jock and cup

  10. carbs.
