How do i prevent a letter from coming up then immediately going on to a yahoo search page?

whenever in yahoo mail, when i click on an entry in my inbox, the letter appears momentarily, then is almost immediately replaced by a yahoo search page. i can't read my mail. is this a system wide error or occurrence? what can be done to enable me to read my mail?
