How do i prevent the messages exchanged on my discussion group from appearing on the group site?

you cant really prevent it but you can offer the Guidelines

specifically Item # 11

if you see a post from your group on another group and you know there was not permission, the owner of that post needs to send this form

I don't know which discussion you are referring to. Many work differently. The easiest thing would be to ask the list owner if its a smaller group with an active group moderator. They will tell you how.
