  1. As a kid at school, the teacher told us to lift our heads and bang the pillow six times, each time saying I must wake up at 6 O'clock and then the same with minutes - 30 times.  It worked when I tried it several times, but that was a very long time ago and I didn't keep notes, so it's just anecdotal, not a proper scientific experiment.

  2. OK.  The key here is not the method you use, but a belief in the method.

My system, which I've used for years goes like this:

As I'm ready to go to sleep I say to myself "Relax and close your eyes, and as you do so you will be delighted to discover you're ready to go to sleep, and as you sleep a deep and relaxing sleep, you'll find you wake energetic and refreshed at xx o'clock exactly."

At the point when you announce the time, think of something positive and funny that makes you smile, or laugh out loud.  Then relax into your sleep.

The positive happy thought anchors the time in there - works for me and has done consistently for 30 years.  Except for once, when I failed to wake up for an appointment I didn't want to go to!

  3. yes I  have consistently used - Linda's technique which also came from my teacher.

You have to be careful to be aware of the current time and then bang your head softly and deliberately on the pillow for the time you want to get up - in figures - not in hours - so six bangs for six o'clock no matter what time you go to sleep. You can visualize a clock face set at that time

    Still works for me.

  4. Go to be bed early and before you sleep, take 5 minutes to have a concentrated positive thought about 6:30.  Lot of people hate to wake up that early and we programme our brain to be negative about .

  5. You're going to laugh when I tell you this, but the natural way that will work is to get to bed earlier. If I get to bed by ten o'clock, I wake up naturally at 5:30 A.M. Consistently. You may have to adjust your time a little, but if you want to stay away from alarm clocks and diets and such, just check out your natural body rhythms. That will tell you how many hours you need to wake up naturally at the right time, or within enough of a grace period so you will be wake and going when your favourite programme comes on.

  6. I do this actually and it works I make the suggestion to myself just before going to sleep that I want to wake up at a particular time and shockarooney it works.

Whe I say 'make the suggestion' I just think it I do not walk about talking to myself by the way.
