  1. There are a few ways to do this after the tab bar is full. Here are two: Before the tab bar is full simply double click the bar and a new tab will open. To open a tab after it is full, in other words no area of the tab bar is available for clicking, you can access the New Tab command inside the File menu.

You can also place the command on the Firefox toolbar by opening the Customize dialog box and dragging the command icon to the toolbar. The Firefox toolbar is situated under the back and forward buttons. Do this:

Right click on any free space by the back/forward buttons area. It may help to do this in the area right before the address bar. In the shortcut menu click Customize. In the Customize dialog box locate the icon for a New Tab, then drag and drop it onto the area you want it to be positioned. You can place it either on the toolbar with the back/forward buttons, or on the Firefox bar.

I just situated it all the way to the left on the Firefox Folder bar, under the back/forward buttons, but you can situate it anywhere it is most convenient for you.

The New Tab icon looks like a white folder with a green plus sign at the lower right corner.

Good luck and have a nice day.
