How do i put a video from imovie 08 onto audacity?

i can not figure out how to get a movie onto audacity so i can change the pitch. also after you change the pitch how do you put it back onto imovie so i can put it on youtube?

  1. You don't put a movie into audacity. Only audio.

    The video with the audio needs to be in the iMovie timeline (not the clips pane). Select the video by clicking once on it. Under "Advanced", select "Extract Audio". The audio on the video clip wil go to 0 and the audio will appear on the next audio line in the time line. Drag that audio to your desktop. Open it with Audacity. Change the pitch, export it as AIFF or MP3. Drag that AIFF or MP3 file to the 2nd audio line in iMovideHD. click  once on the first audio line to select it. Delete it. Line the second audio up with the left side start of iMovie timeline. On the right, click the check box next to the movie audio - that will mute the audio in the movie. Ther should be a check in the box next to the second audio line you brought in... play it. Make sure it is sync'd. Save it. If you are going to make changes, Export/Share it as full quality. When that is done, open a new iMovie project and drag that new full quality export to the timeline... start editing.
