How do i put an avi film on to an mp3/mp4 player.

hi , i have a phillips 2gb mp3/mp4 player and have no idea what i need to do to put a film on it ...i know it cant hold lots because it is only 2gb , but want to put at least one or two on there for my kids when we go on a long journey...what do i need to do , step by step instructions will be of help haha... any help would be much appreciated..

First, I don't think an avi file format will play on it. I tried that on my device and it didn't work, the same device as yours. This might help you out:

1.Download an amv converter (download the second one when you open the link) http://www.soft29.com/amv_converter.html

2. Then you can convert that avi file to amv

That worked on my mp3/mp4 player

I think you'll have to convert it to MPEG first - try Google'ing "avi to mpeg" and pick some free software to do it - I use Xilisoft myself and it works fine. Then copy the file to your player from your PC in the same way you copy music files over.
