How do i put .avi movie files onto a DVD-RW and then play it back on a dvd player?

Hi, i want to put movie files on a dvd-rw so i can watch it back on a dvd player. i have used nero to convert it to dvd rw format and i couldnt watch it. I've also tried NTI, and AVS but it doenst work. I mean it plays back on my laptop so i thought my dvd player might not be compatible but it clearly says cd/dvd rw compatible.

  2. The CD/ DVD rw compatible refers to the type of Disc it can play .. not the format within ... The avi format is supported by a lot of new gen DVD players ... The older ones do not support it .. or you may need to get an Mpeg4 decoder for Nero and try burning the .avi file as a regular DVD movie ... Hope this helps ...

  3. DVD players read different files than PCs. They read all kinds of different files, not just 1 lone file. Explore the files on normal DVDs and youll see.
