How do i put footage from 1 camcorder to another?

i have a canon V60Hi which uses tapes, i have about 15 tapes full of stuff through my daughters life, i have recently got a new camcorder which uses an SD card, i want to get rid of my old camcorder,

does any1 know how to put whats on the tapes onto my new camcorder so i can burn it all to disc?

as i really dont want to put them onto videos cos i dont use vids anymore. i have tried playing it on the tv and recording with the new corder but moving lines come up all the way through

  1. Putting the video on your new camcorder would be difficult and a waste of time - it's much quicker and easier to copy them directly to your PC.

    The V60Hi is an analog camcorder, so you'll need a converter to produce a digital signal your PC can handle.   You can use something like the Kworld DVD Maker or the Pinnacle Dazzle, or, if you want the best quality, have a look at the Canopus ADVC converters.

    Once you've got some video on your PC (maybe not all 15 tapes - that's a lot of video!) you can start putting it on DVD.  The easiest and cheapest way would be to use DVD Flick, though you can get DVD Authoring apps that will give you much more control of menus etc.
