  1. Theres a program called HandBrake that does this. Heres the link.

    http://www.cdr-zone.com/software/video_t...

put your disk in, press source, click the disk, then click ipod on the right, then press start, depending on how long the movie is, is how long it will take to transfer.

An average 2 hour movie takes 2 hours...

  2. Get AVS Video/audio Converter, it can rip and burn personal DVDs, convert video, split, join, edit, rotate, apply effects, transfer, copy! All key video formats are supported! This is the best tool I' ve been used.

  3. You need third party software to help you, I always use Aimersoft dvd to ipod converter, it can easily convert dvd to ipod with high quality, and combine several DVD chapters into one file after the conversion finished

that's really good, you can check it out here for free:

Then just follow below steps to add video on ipod

    1. Open iTunes and click "File" to add your videos to iTunes library.

2.Then plug in your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect your iPod as a device. select your iPod device on the left panel of iTunes, click "Movies" tab, check the videos you want to sync and click "Apply", done

  7. Well, you'll need a DVD to Mp4 converter, usually, I'm using Pinnacle Studio 11, but it's a video cut software and it costs pretty high, so I found these 2 links, Videora (1st link) is converting .vob (dvd) files to mp4, but there's a lot of them on a DVD, so you'll need the second link to get them all in the same file. It's supposed to work, but I didn't test it myself.

  8. im not really sure but u should copy the folder on the dvd to your harddrive /you should have a converter program like videora u can get it on videora.com (and search for it) use the program to convert the files from the DVD to mp4 format ive tried it with bootleg movies and it works but im not sure on copyright DVDs

  9. yes, try wondershare dvd to ipod , it will help u.

  10. Check out this tutorial:

    http://elliottback.com/wp/archives/2005/...

It shows how to rip dvds to computer.

Then all you have to do is convert it to mp4.

  11. I found you a tutorial on how to do this.

Software is free as well as the tutorial.

    DVD Decrypter version 3.5.4.0

    Videora iPod Converter version 2.0

  12. This takes many steps.  You must first rip the disc to your hard drive. An easy (but messy) way of doing this is to simply copy the files on the disc to some folder on your hard drive.

Once you do this, you will have a bunch of .VOB files.  You can use something like ffmpeg (http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/) to encode these files to mp4 directly.

If you want subtitles, you will need to create hard subs (imposed on the images). If you want multiple languages, you will have to create separate files for each language. I think mencoder can handle the hard subs for you (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.ht...

Note that there are frontends for all of these programs.
