i'm going to be a freshman when school starts in a couple of weeks and i'm tired of all this summer drama (boyfriend dumping me, people hating me, etc.). i want to make more friends since i've lost so many during 8th and i want to find a guy who'll treat me right. i'm always acting like myself but it never seems to be enough. i'm not afraid to voice my opinion and i'm very friendly

  1. I used to be a little shy back when I was in junior high and elementary school. I would never talk to people unless if they came up to me and asked me a question. But during freshman year, I made friends by joining clubs and playing on sports teams (I joined badminton). I think joining the sports teams was really what brought me closer to people because I would see them every day after school at practice. And during practice, its hard not to communicate with others. I know school dances are also neat ways to meet new friends (although I never went to one in high school). What's funny is when I look back at my yearbook during 7th and 8th grade, barely anyone signed it, but in 9th grade, people ended up signing on the most random places because there was no more room! And its not like I was telling random people I didn't know to sign it either.

Just sit back and relax. High school life is much different from junior high/middle school. And since you already sound like such an outgoing person, you shouldn't have a problem making new friends. I promise! You're going to be meeting a lot of new people, and not everyone will hate you. And its not true that seniors will bully freshmen for no reason. It only happens to those "wannabe gangsters." =]

  2. Sound to me like you're already "out there"

If you want to meet new people, have friends introduce you, and be willing to introduce others to folks they haven't met.

With your attitude, you'll be fine, don't settle for someone just because you want to "date".

Wait for the guy that you can't stand not being with him.

As far as your opinion, wait until it's asked for, otherwise you can be viewed as an opinionated shrew, (or a worse word).

Clearly, there's a lot of waiting to be learned when starting high school.

    Luck
