How do i put pictures onto microsoft word?

i have xp...if that matters on how you do it.. But everytime i try to drag the picture onto word it doesnt work and i have done it like that before. or if i go to the top (like it says to do when i try to do it the other way) i click on insert and go to options..click create from file and look for the picture i want to paste,but it just shows text and not the picture..! please helP!

copy and paste! right click on the picture and press copy and then on the document you right click again and press paste

Go to insert - Picture - from file. then upload OR

Copy the pic and paste it. Once it's there you can resize and center it, etcetera.
