How do i put video's from my camra on the computer. i rate best answer!!!!?

i have a sony hand held camra and i wanna put my gradu8tion on myspace but first i need to learn how to save it. i only have the disk i dnt have a cable or cord. please help! best answer 10 pointys!

well u need da cord or not unless it wireless and it connects to da computer itself

There's a good chance with a Sony (you don't mention the model number) that you can connect via a standard USB cable.

Open Windows Movie Maker and follow the instructions to transfer (capture) the file then output it (make movie) as an mpg2 file.

This file can then be uploaded to myspace BUT be warned: the file will be VERY large (about 1GB per 15 minutes of video), the completed file will be much smaller and the upload time will take forever (well, a couple of hours) depending on how long the video runs for.

Depends how adventurous you want to be - you could even edit the video in Movie Maker, add titles, transitions etc - just a thought.

By disc you you mean the installation disc for your camcorder or do you mean a mini dvd disc.

If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer 's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (i downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.

If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder….

Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder.
