How do i put video from a camcorder to laptop or any computer?

The above answer is not ok as USB  is for for low quality CD making only and that too with frame dropped..

Only authentic way is to Capture(transfer ) video via Firewire cord if u r using DV camera.

If u have old analog camera you will need capture card like Dazzle or Pinnacle

There are lot of programmes (u can `get free trial version)like Sony vegas,pinnacle ,ulead,sonic and more advance ones..

After capture  you can edit that on timeline and then convert it to your desired format like Mpeg 2,Mpeg1,mpeg4 etc.If you needs further detail feel free to email me

You first need a camcorder that is digital.

Read the directions that come with camcorder.

Each computer normally has a USB input slot.  Plug your camcorder into USB and open up your video software inside your computer list of programs.

If everything is compatible, you should be abe to download the video in your camcorder into your computer, or view a live stream of video on your desktop screen.

Progam should ask you if you want to save the file downloaded, and say "yes".
