How do i....?

Question

I have a camera ( Canon 2R850 ) and I dont know how to download movies from it. I just cant figure it out.

It is not digital ( it uses tapes to record )

It comes with a DV cable (USB)

and my editing software is windows movie maker

does anyone have advice? thanks so much!

I think that should be a ZR850?  It's a MiniDV camcorder - it uses tapes, but it IS digital.  DV cables are firewire, not USB, so you won't be able to plug it in to a USB port.  You'll need to capture the video via firewire - if your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available.

Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker.
