How do i quit xbox live silver account?

i want to be able to change my gamername without having to use it so im scrapping xbox live totally im on a silver level account how do i do it

You can't get rid of a silver account. Just delete your old profile and make a new one.

Well you don't have to do that. Just make a new profile on your 360 and buy a new XB live card and redeem its code. Or you could just change your name with 800 MS points by going to edit profile.
