  1. 011 for international

    48 for Poland

    33 for Ustroń

There is no area code for stationary phones, starting with "60". Originally, cellphone company codes started with "60": 601, 603, 605... for Plus, 602, 604, 606... for Era. These codes are not associated with location. If the number does not respond, it may be no longer valid.

  2. You dial

    • the international preifix of your country/cellphone 00/011 or whatever

    • the country code for poland 48

    • the phone number by leaving out the first "0", if their is any.

60 was not an area code, but an "Era-Code", indicating that this is a prefix used by the mobile/cellphone phone provider Era. (600, 602, 604, 606, 608). Today he may have another provider and number starting with 50 or 90.

If you know that he has a regular stationary phone, and you only know the 7-digit local number, you have to dial the city code "33" for Ustron after the Polish country code.

  3. Yes, in the USA you dial 011 first for international calls, then 48 (Poland's country code) plus the rest of the number.

If it's still not working call customer service for the cellular provider (usually dial 611).  It may be that you need to "authorize" international calls on the cellphone.

If that doesn't wotrk or if the authorization will take a while you should buy a pre-paid calling card to call Poland.  Pre-paid cards are sold at drug stores, conveinience sores, some department stores (ex. Wal Mart and Target) and at the post office.

    Good luck!

  4. 011-for international   to Poland  then 48 -country code and ofcourse area code /city code /-this number are still active, but calling from cell phone will cost preety penny. Why don't  you buy just  calling card  and call from your regular phone.
