  1. On a bass tab, there are four lines, like so:

    G||-----------------------------------...

    D||-----------------------------------...

    A||-----------------------------------...

    E||--0---------2---------3------------...

    These represent the four strings, and you can see from the labels which is which. The numbers tell you which fret to play. It's very simple.

  2. all u do is go down what the number is on the tab from the neck, if that makes sense?

  3. okay, on a bass your lowest string is called an E, the next is an A, the next D then the G string so you have those 4 stings.

    on a bass tab it goes like this

    (u will see a line going parallel right here, its the) G string

    (line here) D

    (line here) A

    (line here) E this is your heaviest and lowest string

    so on the tab lets say you see a number 1 on the "E" line that means the first fret of your guitar on the lowest string so you put your finger on the first fret which is the first box.

    then in a row next it might say 3 on the "A" string so you put your finger on your next lowest and heavyset string on the 3rd fret which is the 3rd box on your guitar.

    start there
