gizmoe is right.Freon gas can kill you. That is why you must

have a license to use it. I  am a big do it yourselfer but I wouldn't dream of trying that.

First thing you need is a license. EPA fines start at $10,000 for those doing this type work without one. Plus, you cannot buy the freon without a license.

You need the gages, specialty tools and the refrigerant which you cant buy unless you have an EPA certification.

If its out or low on refrigerant it has a leak that needs to be found and repaired.

These units are sealed and do not lose the refrigerant unless there is a leak.

You need a technician to charge A/C's, it is not a DIY project sorry.
