Question:

How do i record a show while my TV if off using my Dish Netowrk DVR?

I keep recording it correcting but it only records like 1or 3 minutes and then stops. Im trying to record Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. Im running dual mode because i have a second tv using the same DVR in a different room.

I dont know whether to record on TV1 or TV2...It doesn't seem to make a differecne though....

Please help...Someone walk me through it...

  1. It should just record for you.

    I leave my TV off all the time and it records flawlessly.

    Is your DVR full?

    Try to erase some things.

    Maybe you have it set to only record a few minutes.

    Are you the only one in your house? Maybe another family member is sabotaging you!!

    You never know. Check all your settings.

    If not, it's probably a problem any of us normies can't answer.

    You should call dish and have them come assist you.

    They'll do the best job.


  2. The DishNetwork DVR has it's own built-in tuner(s), so it doesn't matter what your TV is doing.  You could be watching a DVD, and still your DVR will record what you tell it to.  The TV itself, is only needed for viewing what your DVR has recorded, not what it's presently recording!
