i have sony bravia kdl40v4000 and a sky magic eye (satellite downstairs but can control from upstairs) i can either plug the magic eye into the tv and receive the freeview channels and normal tv but cant receive any images through the vcr. Or i can plug the eye into the vcr and receive analogue and satellite (and record) but cant get any channels on the tv. is there anyway of putting the the eye through the aerial socket (and receive freeview etc) of the tv and somehow get a signal to the vcr? someone mentioned that this would be possible through an hdmi lead but i dont have that connection on the vcr. at the moment i am thinking i have to get an aerial splitter and split the eye signal to both the vcr and the tv and that this will be the only way.

  1. You can use the audio/video output (composite) on this TV to connect to the audio/video input (composite) of your VCR and record any program that you are watching on your TV. If you want to record a different program than the one you are watching on the television or your VCR does not have a composite video input, then you are going to need the aerial splitter.

Additional Details: I see from the SONY UK site that this version of the V4000 does not support a composite video output, just a RCA audio output, therefore, the aerial splitter is your ONLY option.
